What’s the first thing that comes to mind when asked to describe a Disney princess?
To answer this question, most people would immediately think of adjectives like beautiful, elegant, virtuous, and melodious. And more often than not, these princesses also tend to be attracted to a charming prince or a man.
With all of of their endearing and positive personality traits, it’s also true that all of the princesses havetheir flaws that make them unique in their own ways.

So today, we’re listing a few of the worst personality traits that Disney princesses have portrayed in their respective films.
#1 – Aurora was Stripped of Emotional Growth
The Sleeping Beauty begins with Aurora being cursed to death by Maleficent on her christening as a newborn. Thereafter, her fairy godmothers are able to successfully change the curse to “sleep until woken by true loves kiss” instead of “die.” For her safety, Aurora is taken away by her fairy godmothers to live in isolation, meaning that she’d have to spend her entire childhood away from any human interaction and grow up with only her fair godmothers around. This meant that despite being an adult, she had not experienced significant emotional growth which led to her falling in love with the first guy she ever came across.

#2 – Jasmine is Careless About Self-safety
Aladdin was released in 1992 as a story of an ordinary street boy who meets the Princess in a public marketplace and falls in love with her. But marrying her proves to be quite an uphill task as the couple has to battle deception, lies, class divides, and worst of all, Jafar’s evil wrath. Even though Jasmine is considered to be among the boldest of the princesses, some might even call her actions reckless.
Yes, it is understandable that Jasmine had longed to set out of the palace and explore the city’s open spaces, far from the confines of the palace and its rules and regulations. Jasmine could’ve easily waited for a prince who’d marry her but instead, she chose to risk her own life, despite being the king’s only child. She endangered her own safety by walking out of the palace in the darkness of the night and mixing with the ordinary folk in the streets and public marketplaces.
#3 – Cinderella Never Stood Up for Herself
When you think of Cinderella, the first thing that comes to mind is her virtuous nature. Despite being mistreated by her family on a daily basis, she continued to obey every single one of their commands regardless. Traits like these might be permissible in fictional stories but in real life, allowing people to mistreat you on a regular basis might not be the wisest of choices.

So yes, while these Disney Princesses do have plenty of great characteristics to be inspired by, it’s also important to understand that being humans, they have several glaring flaws too.
