Native to Japan’s red pine forests, Matsutake mushrooms are pretty rare. In the early days, aristocrats and the Japanese imperial families gifted them as a symbol of fertility, fortune, and happiness. But due to an invasive worm, now their habitats are on the verge of extinction. There might come a time when people won’t even know that they ever existed.

It’s created from the milk of three moose sisters, Gullan, Haelga, and Juno, and that too between the months of May and September only. Nothing quite compares to the taste of a delicious cut of rare meat. But if you taste Japan’s Wagyu beef, you’ll find yourself falling in love with it in no time.
Kept under strict rearing and feeding guidelines, the cows used for Wagyu beef have an enviable marbling of fat around the muscles, and can sell up to $30,000 each. Such is their uniqueness and demand that people are ready to spend an absolute fortune on them. If you also think you can spend $200 for a pound of Wagyu beef, feel free to do so, but know that you’re going to savor every single bite.
